50' Custom Charter Boat "TUNA DUCK" Available for Charter: Hatteras, North Carolina 2008 Rates: $1470 per day; (Discount for cash $1400) Personal checks and credit cards accepted Available Dates Calendar for Tuna Duck ![]() All tackle & bait furnished ~ 6 to 7 hours actual fishing time ~ 1- 1 1/2 hours to the gulfstream 1 to 6 people, per Coast Guard regulations Reservations are held the day of booking. To confirm the reservation, a $500 deposit is required within one week of booking. Please make check or money order to Tuna Duck and send to: Jerry Shepherd 4217 S.E Bayview St. Stuart, FL 34997. For a full refund of deposits, trips can only be canceled at the discretion of the captain. Parties MUST be at the dock the morning of the trip to receive the refund. We regret that we must adhere to this policy, but the weather in Hatteras is so fickle that we often do not know in advance whether or not a day will be fishable. Capacity: 6 People, per Coast Guard regulations. Although the boat is certainly large enough to accommodate more passengers, we cannot take more than 6, due to stringent USCG regulations. Make - Up Trips: Unfortunately we don't see enough volume to be able to pre-arrange split parties. However, our marina arranges what we call "make-ups" on its boats according to a rotation schedule. Make - ups cannont be arranged weeks ahead; bookings are done weekly from May through September or October. To get your name on the make up list, just call the marina at 252-986-2166 when you get to Hatteras. The price of a make up is $240 per person for a 6 party trip and $270 per person for a 5 person trip. Gratuity for Mate: Customary tip for the mate is 20%. Children: We take children as young as 5 or 6, providing they are properly supervised by an adult. Please call to discuss bringing very young children on board. Fish cleaning and freezing: Dolphin, wahoo, and tuna, 35 cents per pound Bottom fish $1.00 per pound (won't be caught on the Tuna Duck) Shrink wrap is $1.50 a bag, which can contain 2 to 20 lbs of fish $15 to store for however long you stay in town This facility is separate from Tuna Duck. Location: Hatteras Harbor Marina, slip # 1 in Hatteras Village at the southern end of Hatteras Island, leaving out of Hatteras Inlet between Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands. Travel Info: From Interstate 95 in North Carolina: Take the Rocky Mount exit, state Rt. 64 east Follow Rt.64 east to Manteo Route 158 North to Rt. 12 south to Hatteras Island. This point is 1 hour from Hatteras Village. Follow Rt. 12 to Hatteras Village. From Interstate 81: From I - 81, take Interstate 64 east to Norfolk, through Norfolk to Chesapeake. Take Rt. 168 South. 168 becomes Rt. 158. Follow 158 through Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, and Nags Head. Take Rt. 12 South to Hatteras Island. Follow Rt. 12 to Hatteras Village. From New York, Philadelphia: Take Route 13 South through Delaware and Maryland through the Chesapeake Bay - Bridge Tunnel. Take Rt. 64 West to Chesapeake. Take Rt. 168 South, becomes 158 South. Follow 158 through Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, and Nags Head. Take Rt. 12 South to Hatteras Island. or Take Interstate 95 to Richmond, VA. Take Interstate 64 East to Chesapeake, then 168 to 158 to Nags Head Take Rt. 12 South to Hatteras Island. Follow Rt. 12 to Hatteras Village. By Ferry : From Jacksonville, NC take Rt. 24 to Morehead City. Take Rt. 70 North to Rt. 12 to Cedar Island Ferry. Ferry takes 2 1/4 hours and requires reservations. If you call the night before your trip, they will prepare lunch for you. For dinner, we recommend the Breakwater or Dinky's , both next door to the marina. |
